Max is convinced he has no brain because.he is in an l.d class and he failed the 7th grade .no I do not think his assessment if himself is correct because even though he is in an l.d reading class doesn’t mean he can’t learn to read better.I think most people in the world now a days care about what people think about them because mostly everyone wants to fit in. Me personaly I dont care what people think of me .
max is convinced that he dosent have a brain because he dosent try to use his brain.yes.your opinoin of yourself to me does have an affect of what people think of you because if you dont acre about your self no one will care about you. i think highly of my self i dont really care what others think of me.
I think max belives he has no brain, for two reasons, the first being he is mentally disabled in some subjects such as reading, the second being everyone is always comparing him to his father.
I also think that everyones opinion about max, being a butthead is incorrect because if max really tried to improve himself, he could prove to everyone else he is capable of doing better.
I think our opinions about ourselves reflect on what people think about us. For example, if max is always putting himself down and comparing himself to his father, then people would start to believe that he is that.
Other peoples’ opinions about us also reflect on what we think about ourselves. For example if everybody is always saying max is a butthead like his father, he may start to believe he is a butthead just like his father, whom he has never met.

He is so convinced thet he doesnt have a brain because he’s L.D. he fells he cant learn at all and it seems in the beginning he doesnt want to.

yes, very much so. if we think we are ugly we tend to put less into our appearance, if our appearance is different then who we really are people will obviously judge you wrongly.

(Explain, and give examples.) yes, for mw when people look down on me i try harder to improve myself because obviously somethings wrong. other people may not try at all because they feel like failures. but nobody is, as long as we do our best we are the best.
1)The reason max thinks he doesn’t have a brain is because of his inability to learn/ compreheand what he is being taught.

1 Max is convinced he does not have a brain, because he knows that he’s not on Kevin’s level, for example he doesnt know almost half the words that kevin knows, he notices that kevin is having to constantly explain evrything to him, and the names that Kevin call him sometimes.
2. No, I dont think his assessment as a butthead is correct because if he would stop beating up hiself and push hiself to know things and learn more, then maybe he wouldnt consider himself as a butthead.
3.Yes, I think opinions of ourselves reflect on how other people look and think of us, because the way you carry yourself out in public, people who are looking at you will automatically have a 1st impression of you in their mind. For example, if you sloutch your shoulders all the time, and you always have your head down, and are very quiet, people are probably going to think that you are a very sad person and that you have some horrible things goin on in your wife.
4.Well I think yes and no, because if your the type of person is very self-conscious or just self-conscious period, than you might try and make some changes aout yourself and you might always think that there is something wrong with you. But if your the types of person who doesnt care what other people say or do, then what people say to you shouldnt or probably doesnt affect you, or even have any concern to you.

SOMEBODY PROBABLY TOLD MAX THAT HE HAD NO BRAIN SO. SINCE SOMBODY TOLD HIM THAT HE LOOKED BACK AT HIS PAST AND SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HE DID AND RMEMBERED HOW HE GOT RETAINED AND NOW HE THINKS THAT HE HAS NO BRAIN.

Max barley understaands the humongous vocabulary max uses. i guess its hard to have a genous as a friend when the only thing you can count on is strength to pull you through.

3.Our opinions of our self do effect what others think. If we think of ourselves to be dumb we may pertray ourselves as a dumby. If your habit in your mind is a to think like a rude person it may become addictive in our brain to think negatively. 4.When we look at ourselves other people’s thoughts become a marror image of how we see ourselves. If many people say you are something your mind may make you think you are. Maybe our mind in a sense, makes our eyes see a mirage of something we are not.

3. Yes, our opinions of ourselves affect what others think of us because the opinions of ourself affects the way we act and think around others. If you have low self-esteem you will often act moody and quiet around others. People will think you are depress and wouldn’t want to be around you.
4. I also think others’ opinions of us affect how we feel about ourselves because if good amount of people says something negative or postive about you, you might think it’s true. If a huge amount of people treat you the same negative way, you would think something is wrong with you. If good amount of people say you are fat or gain alot of wieght, you would try to loose the wieght or you self esteem with go down. If alot of people say your ugly, you will look in the mirror and look for flows to fix or see if they’re right.
Max is convinced that he doesnt have a brain because he feels inadequate towards Kevin since hes such a smart kid and Max is in LD. Kevin aka freak is always using big words that Max doesnt ever understand and Kevin has to always explain to him what it means and max doesnt seem to like that because that would make him look extra dumb in front of Kevin.
I think the assessment of him being a “butthead” is neutral because…..
1. He is a big dued and he needs to learn to stand up for himself so people wont walk over him all the time. Also hes not determined and confident to try harder.
2. Then again I dont think he can help it since hes not as smart as most people and hes gigantic and that terrifies his classmates which makes him have no friends and so he uses those flaws against him to lower his self-esteem.
Our opinions of ourselfs do affect the way others think of us. I dont know about you but i hate people who always just put there selves down when its not necessarily true. For instance when people call themselves fat and they dont eat because of that, its really sad not because of a disorder but because of what they think of themselves. Other opinions that other people would say about them does affect some people. Some people just take whatever negetivity that people say about them to heart and sometimes they try to change and be someone that there not and it doesnt always work out because nothing is better than just being you, no matter what people say or tease about. Nobody’s perfect, we all have our bad features or personalities; we cant change it but we could try to make it better in way that people would like to become our friend. I care about the positive but not the negativity of what others say because most of the time when people have the time to talk bad about somebody they have nothing else better to do. Most of the time its because of jealousy and you just have to ignore it sometimes and concentrate on the positive.

1. Max is convinced that he doesn’t have a brain because he is in the low reading classes and he get no support from his gram and grim. So he just listens to the people that he talks to and believes that he’s LD.
2. It depends, if he really is LD and is just plain stupid then yeah. But if he is going with the flow of others telling him he’s LD and he’s really smart then he is the opposite of a butthead.
3. Yes, because whatever way you talk about yourself that’s how people will think of you. Like if you say that your fat and everyone you meet you tell them that you think your fat, then the people you know will think of you as fat.
4. Sometimes, because if someone tells you that you are stupid and you know that you are smart then you will just not listen to whoever says that you are stupid. But if you are stupid and people say call you stupid then it will lower your self-esteem and you might become even stupider. Or it could affect you in a way that if people call you stupid then you would want to prove them wrong and try to get help and learn more so sometimes it can even help.

I believe Max is convinced that he doesn’t have a brain because other people, like his teachers, peers, and family don’t give him any motivation and all they do is tell him that he is learning disabled, that leads Max to believe that really he is stupid but if people would make him believe otherwise he would probably push himself to be “smart”
2. Is his assessment of himself as a “butthead” correct? Yes and No, if he really is or think he is stupid then butthead would be the right term but if he keeps addressing himself as a butthead he won’t try to be anything other than that.

Yes, if you see a person who has lots of self-esteem and confidence you will probably realize they are the popular ones, the ones with people all around them, and obviously the ones who succeed at anything they try. If you think of yourself as someone who can accomplish anything and everything then you will accomplish everything and others will see that but if you think you can’t do it, then people will believe that you can’t do it and that you are a loser.

Yes, if people tells someone that they are good at something they do, for example singing, then that person will feel good about themselves and will probably try getting better at their singing, if you tell someone that they are not good singers you will lower that person’s self-esteem and they won’t try harder at getting better at singing or whatever it is that they do.

People are going to have a negative opinion of you and atomatically think that you are a quiter. But if you dont give up and keep trying, even if you dont get it right or finish it, people will have a positive opinion of you and mostly likely think that you are confident and believe in yourself and that you arent a quiter. You should always have confidence and believe in yourself.
4. Yes, I definitely think that others opinions of you will affect the way you feel about yourself. For example, If someone comes up to you and says “that outfit doesnt match” or “you look so ugly today” then of course you are going to lose self confidence and feel horrible. But then if someone comes up to you and says “that is a really pretty/nice outfit” or “you look really pretty today” then you will feel good about yourself and gain self confidence. Also if people spread rumors about you, then you are going to lose self confidence and feel like everyone hates you and is talking about you, even if they dont hate you.

I think that is does affect how others think of us on the accordance to how high our self confidense level is, also when we are depressed or maybe overly hyper, people may think on a first impression that is how we are normally

Yes, I think that it affects us in someways that subconsciously or consciously we might try to change ourself to other’s likeness. Like if somone with a low self confidense level was told wearing black made you look this way or that, that person may try to be what they are not.
Max always says ” I never had a brain until freak like me borrow his for a while.” He says that a lot. Does he say that because hes dumb and he failed the seventhed grade twice? I don’t think hes really that dumb at all. If you say your dumb all the time then you will not try to use your own brain and be smart. Just like if you say i’m not eating salad for lunch you probably won’t eat salad. I also think he is this way because something to do with his parents. He just doesn’t feel like putting any effort into his school work. People also tell him hes dumb so he believes them. I don’t think that he is a butthead at all. He is smart in his own way as everyone else is. He should’t think at all that he is a butthead. Do opinions of ourselves affect what others think of us? Yes I think so. If you say to yourself i’m ugly and stupid people are’nt gonna make an effort to say no not at all you’re cute and smart. No people are going to think you’re not only ugly and stupid, but now crazy. Others opinions do affect the way we think of ourselves. If people like you and you’re popular and cool you are going to feel good about yourself. If people say your stupid and geeky you are not going to be so happy and go lucky. You’re going to be sad. This is what I think about your questions and i’m sure many others feel the same.

Max is convinced he does not have a brain because he has a hard time reading and learning, was held back twice, and worst of all, Max’s grandparents always talk about what a horrible kid he is, lowering his motivation, and overall, involuntarily presetting his limitations.
2. Is his assessment of himself as a “butthead” correct?
Yes, unfortunately, Max’s impression of himself being is correct. Being a kicker, a bully, and a thug would definitely fall under the jurisdiction of “butthead”. However, it’s really only skin deep. If he would just learn to stop acting like his grandparents expect him to, and start acting the way he feels on the inside, he could be so much more, which I’m sure he will be later on.
1.) I think Max is convinced he has no brain because he has been held back twice. Also, he hangs out with Freak (Kevin) who knows like everything and he has no idea what anything mean. Plus he’s in an L.D reading class, which make him think even worse about himself.
2.) Max is not a butthead but if he thinks that about him that’s how people might see him. So he should think positive about his self.
3.) Of course, if you think of yourself as smart or pretty and behave in that way then people will definitely see you as smart and pretty.
4.) Sure, if someone says your fat you’ll feel insecure and start believing your fat. So if some says something mean about you don’t take it too personally.
1) Max is convinced he has no brain because he has trouble reading, and comprehending things that are spoken to him. He has to go to a special class,and he certaintly doesn’t get any encouragement from his classmates.
2)I do not think that Max is a “butthead”. I think he has plenty of potential, and it takes Kevin to show him that.
3) I think my opinion of myself does affect what people think of me. I say what’s on my mind, though not in a mean way, I smile, laugh, and make others laugh alot, and I am comfortable in my own skin. I think people know this when they get to be friends with me, and it makes them think I am secure and I have confidence, which I do.
4) What others think of me does NOT affect how I feel about myself in anyway. I do not think I give others a reason to not like me, so any rude or mean comment directed at me is probably unjustified. I wouldn’t care to be judged by my likes and dilikes, either, but I won’t change myself to be perfect in someone else’s eyes. I think how you feel about yourself is most important, and I’ve just recently learned to live by that philosophy and not hide my true self.

2.Max thinks he personally, is a butthead because he feels he is not smart, although this is not true to me because he is very generous towards a crippled child and is improving on his reading skills very quikly.

There is one question I don’t know about. If Max was big before Freak came along, why didn’t he help other people before? Was he too scared people would be scared when he came to help?!?!

Max thinks he doesn’t have a brain because he considers himself as the pariah of the school. He also thinks he doesn’t have a brian because he doesn’t know how to read good , and he is made fun of being in a L.D. class. I personally don’t think Max is a “butthead” because would a butthead help a cripple out no but I think a butthead would make fun of a kid (Blade).

Yes other peoples’ opinions affect us because someone may start rumors and that would get to us and it would definitely hurt our feelings knowing those rumors arent true or if they are and their personal. SO LETS TRY AND NOT START RUMORS =]]

Max is convinced that he has no brain because he has failed the seventh grade twice. He has gotten the looks and has heard the whispers. I believe that until he met Kevin his assessment of himself as a butthead is true. I believe this because until Max met Kevin he never had the courage to speak up for himself, or even speak for that matter. I believe that our opinon about ourselves can effect the way others think about us. Like if you go to school hanging your head low and slumping along, especially if you are a 6th or 9th grader the others are going to eat you alive. Also the way people feel about you can effect th way you yourself feel about yourself. If people talk down to you all the time eventually it’ll get to the person and that person just may start slumping like I just said and will get picked on even more. So that’s my answer to Mr. Moshe’s questions.

He is smart if he tried hard enough and applies it to his life to fully understand a concept. Freak is helping him and his self esteem by hanging with him. The way he talks about how they are knights in the round table is kind of weird! Anyway, the point is if Max tries a little harder it wont be so difficult later in life and he wont be so vacous.
i dont think it is right for him to call himself a butthead! it just lowers your self esteem or how u think of yourself. With freaks help he can be more corageous and brave. and maybe he wont call himself a butthead anymore!
I think he has no brain because he feels dumb around kevin him being so smart and all. YEA, i would think i’m a butthead hanging around a smart kid like Kevin. yes. i do think they affect like if i act smart other people would think it.Again yes if somebody called me dumb retarded i would fell down and not so cool.
Max thinks he doesn’t have a brain because he’s in L.D and some people treat him like it like Blade and his Grim and Gram sometimes.

I think that what we thiink of ourselves does make make a difference of what other people think. For example, if you call yourself a idiot people will think you are. I also think this is correct because if someone calls you Fat or Large you will try to lose weight. Or if someone calls you a Geek you will try to play it cool.
