Here’s the plan for the week. We will be working for the next few days on the following assignments.
 
M – We will review the proper format for answering short and long response questions by looking at the follow up questions (3,4,5) for the The Bet. After that we’ll get into the next story The Lady or the Tiger by talking about Drawing Conclusions and reviewing/studying the vocabulary for the upcoming test
– HW is to read The Lady or the Tiger (accessible through Classzone.com) & to work on the Final Draft of the Argumentative Research Paper & Display Board.
 
T – We will read our personal novels (required in class every day), then we will listen to The Lady or the Tigerkeeping track of traits of the princess (adjectives, words, phrases, actions) that will help us predict what the outcome of the story will be (it isn’t given to us), then we will write our own endings to the story and begin work on the follow up questions for The Lady or the Tiger (2,3,5,6 and LA:CLA). 
– HW is to read The Lady or the Tiger (accessible through Classzone.com) and/or to study the vocabulary from the story & to work on the Final Draft of the Argumentative Research Paper & Display Board.
 
W – We will read our personal novels (required in class every day), then we will work on our vocabulary posters for the story The Lady or the Tiger, after that we will finish and go over our follow up questions for The Lady or the Tiger.
– HW is to read The Lady or the Tiger (accessible through Classzone.com) and/or to study the vocabulary from the story & to work on the Final Draft of the Argumentative Research Paper & Display Board.
 
TH – We will read our personal novels (required in class every day), then we will work on our vocabulary posters for the story The Lady or the Tiger, after that we will finish and go over our follow up questions for The Lady or the Tiger. We will cover some poetry concepts to close out the block.
– HW is to read The Lady or the Tiger(accessible through Classzone.com) and/or to study the vocabulary from the story & to work on the Final Draft of the Argumentative Research Paper & Display Board.
 
F – Vocabulary Test on the Words to Know from The Lady or the Tiger, The Argumentative Research Paper is due and the display board that goes with it too. Students will sign up for Debate dates. First come first scheduled.
– HW – There will be no homework except to prepare for the debates. A student may come in on the day of his/her debate in a dressed up version of the school uniform dress code. No Southwest Middle School Dress Code violations will be tolerated.
