Rising 5th to 6th Graders

  • Read the following titles OVER the summer.
  • Bring a book report for each title. Here is the format for the report – Approach Paper Format. Book reports have to be submitted to TURNITIN.com for a plagiarism check through your WriteSource Online Access. Rising 6th to 7th Graders

    • Lord of the Flies
    • The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
    • 1984
    • Scorpions
  • Read ONE NONFICTION book of your choice

  • We would also like parents and adult caregivers to purchase the following novels as they tie into the summer reading list.
    • Of Mice and Men
    • Night
    • To Kill a Mockingbird
    • Fahrenheit 451
    • Witness
    • The Outsiders
    • Animal Farm
After a great deal of consultation, the 8th grade teachers have decided on the following Academic School Year List of Supplies.
  • For the student
    • A 5 subject notebook
    • 4 GB Flashdrive
    • 2 pens, 2 pencils, 4 highlighters, scissors, ruler (with holes in them)
    • glue sticks, tape, pencil erasers, pencil sharpener
    • A pack of index cards (3 X 5)
    • markes, crayons, colored pencils
  • For the classroom to be given to the teacher each quarter
    • 1 box of tissues
    • 1 ream of white printer paper/quarter
    • 1 package of looseleaf paper
