Here are the questions:
- What impact did Joe Louis’ actions in the 1938 rematch between Louis and Schmelling have on American History?
- What can you do to inspire people to take action to stand up for what’s right?
People still stand up for what they believe in, just in different ways, and different things. People have gotten new ideas and new meanings to things. So it puts things in perspective and changes opinions and whats right or wrong. Sometimes I dont really know what im talking about, I just let my mind go and say whats going through it, so some of this might not make sense to you, but it makes sense to me.
Wow. I would definatly have stood up like that too, but then again I probably wouldnt have faught to the finish either. This world has changed so much in society its unbelievable. I am proud of anyone who is willing to stand up like that. Even now a days people still have to stand up for what they believe in, which is harder because people have new weapons, and new tactics on doing things. The world was tough then and still is, but its not as hard now because of the pepople willing to stand up in the past.
Joe Louis’ actions impacted American history because it desegregated the American Army. This was one step forward to desegregating the entire USA. Also, adding African Americans to the army added more people to fight, which probably helped the USA’s side to win. I think that just because Schmelling was German doesn’t mean people should think he was a Nazi, and just because his manager was Jewish, people shouldn’t criticize him. People should get their facts right before they say something. I can inspire people to take action to stand up for what’s right by doing it myself.
At first, I didn’t really get what Joe Luis actually did, but then I realized that Joe was a symbol of freedom for the Americans. Especially the blacks. Joe Luis taught them that they can do anything as long as they believe in it. Joe encouraged many African Anericans to join the army and get involved in politics and government. Even though Schmelling was not a Nazi supporter, he represented them when he fought Luis.
What I could do to inspire people would be to stand up for the right thing. I agree with Amber. A lot of people are afraid to do the right thing because no one will stand up with them. However, if there are a lot of people taking a stand, it wont be as hard as when you are alone.
As the first significant African American athlete since Jack Johnson, Louis was among the few focal points for African American pride in the 1930s. As a contest between representatives of the United States and Nazi Germany during the 1930s, the fights came to symbolize the struggle between democracy and fascism. With Louis performance, it elevated him to becoming the first true African American national hero in the United States.
The types of ways you could inspire people to do the right things are to be a leader, stay positive, set examples, stay focus, and offer incentives.
Joe Louis and Max Schmeling we’re two boxers that had a match they first met in 1938, when Schmeling won the fight. Later on that year in 1938 once again they had a match and Louis was prepared better for Schmeling he won that match.. That fight was important in history but also more important in WWII because Louis was a soldier in the army, he encouraged lots of african americans to join the army and help fight in the war after the bombing of Pearl Harbor when the U.S. gets involved. He showed that it wasn’t just a white mans job anyone can do it.
Joe Louis’ actions in the 1938 rematch impacted many African americans by being an icon. His actions is what urge, prospective soldiers to overcome their doubt about serving the white man’s army. He was instrumental in helping desegregate the army, not only by encouraging enlistment, but by using his influence to combat racial bias on military bases. Things that you could do to inspire people to take action to stand up for what’s right are to set an example for others. Once someone see’s you doing the right and standing up for whats right. Sooner of later your going to have followers that want to be like you, setting examples for others.
The impact Joe Louis had on American History was big. People looked up to him and he help them get through tough times. He encouraged people to join the white soldiers and overcome their doubts about serving in a white man’s army. He helped desegregate the Army and was an idol to many people.
To inspire people to stand up for what is right, I could stand up for what is right. People are afraid to stand up for what is right because they are standing alone. But I could stand up with them so they wont be afraid and its for the right thing.
The match between Louis and Schmelling had a huge impact on American life. On the outside, it was just black and white (ironic). But in the eyes of hurt and eager Americans and Germans, it was like a war. More of a proving yourself war. Joe Louis was from America and Schmelling was from Germany. It was like Louis was America and Schmelling was Germany and at that time, the holocaust (WW 2) was occuring.
When the match was over and Joe Louis won, it was like America had defeated the predators, the fire starters of this war.
Joe Louis was a huge impact on the U.S., he encouraged African-Americans to take part in supporting the country they lived in. He demolished the racial biased opinions of a lot of White men and women. He showed the country how strong and loving anyone no matter what race can be.
Now a days there are so many cliques that everyone is apart of at school, what ever happened to just being friends? If someone-anyone could just break free from a group and express themselves to everyone, it could really change the way people act. People have their differences, but that’s what makes them special. Why do you have to be in groups with people that are basically exactly like you? That can get old pretty fast, talk to new people, become friends with someone with completely different interests. Live in a world of creativeness and strength, don’t be afraid to express yourself, or share your thoughts! If one person breaks free from everyday ruts, soon many will too. It’s time for a change, who wants to be the next Joe Louis? The man that symbolized freedom, originality, and creativeness.
What impact did Joe Louis’ actions in the 1938 rematch between Louis and Schmelling have on American History?
When Joe Louis rematched with Schmelling in 1938, Joe was standing up for something else. He was standing up so that his fellow people could have a voice, he wanted to be heard. When WWII began Louis became an icon to the African American crowd , he helped them overcome the fact that they were serving in a white mans army, which in my opinion doesn’t mean anything if you’re both fighting for the same thing.

Joe Louis’ actions in the 1938 rematch between Louis and Schmelling have make an impact on American History, because he was the most famous boxing match during this time. This match was symbolic, because it was black versus withes. Joe Louis was much more than a sports hero. He was an important American symbol. He was a clean-living, modest man, Louis was regarded as the opposite of an earlier black heavyweight champion. I think that a good way to inspire people to do what is right is to tell them to do and stand up for what they think that is good and make people change their mind and given them their opinion.
When Joe Louis rematched in 1938 he was proving to many African Americans that the color of the skin didn’t matter, but its whats on the inside that really counts and if you put forth the effort you can make this thing work. The message reached many African Americans, and as a result many coloreds started to join the war, fighting with the white mans army. He could have shyied away and said forget about it,but he was persistent. If you want to stand up for what is right there are two opsitions. 1) protest for or against; speak your voice in a respectful way and people might actually listen(sometimes its not what you say but how you say it!) 2) if people still are discouraged then act upon what your saying. Show people that your serious about what your doing, and that its possible to accomplish the goal even if there are hard or rough times . People have a tendency to conform more so than to lead(some to most times its because its less work!)

The impact Joe Louis actions had on American history was that African Americans are just as strong as any other race on the planet. He was able show this by being able to beat his oponent Max Schmeling in a rematch for the Heavyweight champion in 1938. Also his actions had opened doors in the army for blacks.
What impact did Joe Louis’ actions in the 1938 rematch between Louis and Schmelling have on American History?
it was one of the most famous boxing match at the time so
this impacted the american history because he was an important american symbol and also even though he had
a 6th grade education he became one of the most famous heroes.
What can you do to inspire people to take action to stand up for what’s right?
by saying positive things about what there standing up for and
by aggreing with what they believe is right if its right.
Here is something to think about: What would you do?
To answer the second question, what I can do to inspire people to stand up for what’s right is to help make the people more confident and that they need to have strength. For me, the three main things you need to stand up for what’s right is: strength, confidence, courage, and the heart to follow what you believe in. Think about Joe Louis. Do you think he gave up and didn’t stand up for what he thought was right? I think not! Joe Louis got over the fact that he was black , because he wanted what he thought was right. He helped desegregate the Army and didn’t like segregation. He did all of this because he had the strength, confidence, courage, and the heart to follow what he believed in. If he can do it, you can too!!!
The match between Louis and Schmelling was legendary. This match was based upon sybolism. With Louis being a black man who wasnt very educated at all to stand up to a jew who was trying to overcome Nazism was fasinating to most people. What was more shocking was that Louis was black and how he had won against a white man. This wasnt common at all for this time period. I think that it is very important for everyone to know that they should alwas stand up for what they beleive in even if its not what people want you to be doing. Look what the world has accomplished because people have encouraged eachother to use their own voices to try and make a difference. Martin Luther King Jr is one of the best examples of someone who had enough courage to use his voice and make a difference. Wouldn’t you want to be know as a person who used theri voice and made a huge difference in the world like Martin Luther King Jr?
Fact: Max Schmelling was not Jewish.
Fact: Max Schmelling’s manager was Jewish.
This indicates that Max was likely not a Nazi sympathizer. This leads us to think that the entire media circus surrounding the match was pushed too its limits in order for some people to make money. That being said, it was still a SYMBOLIC battle between Nazi Fascism and AMerican Democratic ideals. Most of the public was ignorant to the facts about the Schmelling, and so they jumped on the bandwagon.
