Life Under Adolf Hitler Discussion 7
We watched the video Life Under Adolf Hitler, which if you have your Discovery Education sign in information, you can go watch again. You took some notes and talked a bit about it in class.
Here is Discussion Question 7 – Hitler and the Nazis SCAPEGOAT the Jews
- For what did Hitler and the NAZI party blame the Jews? How did Hitler help persuade others to feel hatred towards them?
- Wow, there were so many resources I could go with . . .
- There’s an article here –Jews in Nazi Germany.
- Of course there is the USHMM – Antisemitism – United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
Hitler and the Nazi party blame the Jews for contaminating the blood of the pure Germans. He didn’t like them at all because they were considered powerful and he wanted to be the most powerful person in the world. He also blame them for all the misfourtunes they have caused for Germany. He thinks the loss of WWI was because of the Jewish conspiracy. He persuaded other people that it was the Jews’ fault that Germany had been through a lot of misfourtune.
I would agree with a lot of what you posted except for the fact that he didn’t blame them for “all of the misfortunes they have caused for Germany.” He blamed tham for what he wanted to blame them for even though tyhey had no hand in what happened to Germany.
In history, Antisemitism has happend over thousnds of years. Romans and other european countries had ridiculed jews for the same reason Hitler did, to win over the people of their country. All the leaders that have done this before Hitler said the were ruining the economy and being lower down in the classes of people. hitler probably saw that the way he want to get ried of jews as it has been done in history and just copied it.
The reason that Hitler and the Natzi party disliked the Jews was because it was said that they were the that Jesus died they moneyleaders and they were blamed for the black death.
There are alot of reasons that the nazis could blame jews for things. the first reason was the cause of WWI. A German Administrator was assasinated by a Jew from england, thus making Germany go against all jews and england. Other reasons could be told, but most of them werent eve nthe jews fault!
The nazis should not blame anybody, but theirselves. Maybe they might have won the war if they weren’t so focus on capturing the jews. Germany was a good state before the nazis took over, so the place is bad because of the nazis not the jews.
i agree with Riley becuse hitler did want to have full controll of the nation .And nothing will get in his was and to do he had to get rid of his therat so that he can move on with out any problems and and so that what he did he whnt after the jews and not just them he when after many other religons as well witch i think that the jews and any of this other people did not even have to suffer for sutch things .
I think that there are several reasons on why the NAZI blame the Jews. For one reason is that they thought that they wanted the perfect race, which is the Aryans. Another way is that Hitler convince people that the reason why they are in a terrible state is that it’s because of Jews and that they were the reason why they lost World War II. So the NAZI did was that they just made the Jews look really bad, and thats how they persuade others to hate the Jews.
The Nazi party blamed the Jews for making the Germans lose the war. So when Hitler came in to German power, he spoke lies about how the Jews ruined the War for Germany, and how they had to pay for the damage caused during the war.
I belive that Hilter blamed the Jews on several reasons because of his personal life, lost losing WWI and also he wanted everything perfect , which i guess the Jews were’nt. Since Hitler was a teen and wasn’t able to be enrolled in the college he want , later on he found out that a Jew was apart of the system that allows kids in , while that was his ( the jew ) fault . Hitler blame the Jews for finicial reasons too . Least of all Hitler wanted to take control and no where he wanted the Jews to be in his plan , or society .
Hitler was blaming the jews for losing WW1 for makin germany horible because he wanted germans to go against the jews and kick them out so that they can believe hat hitler is doing the right thing and that germany is becoming better.
Hitler and the Nazi’s blame jews for losing WW1 and they felt that jews were the reason why Germany was such a horrible state.
@Riley D
No, Hitler had just had extreme amounts of hate and prejudice to the jews and used those reasons to convince the masses to hate the Jews as well. He personally did not think that but he wanted te general population to think that they were to be blamed.
It seems your logic is faulty . . .
Maybe you can explain how you know that he, Hitler, “personally did not think that”. Exactly what are you claiming he did not think? Are you claiming that Hitler did not personally think that the Jewish population was to blame for the German nation’s problems? That would be far from the widely accepted and proven truth.
Well, maybe you’re right. he wasn’t limiting it to Germany. When he writes in Mein Kampf that “The personification of the devil as the symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew” he is saying that he personally thinks this. And in publishing the book, he is not only telling the German people that Jews are an illness on the face of the earthen gene pool, he is trying to tell the world. THis is clearly what he personally thinks.
And if he did not think that, then why would he have written it? So, since he did write it (and push for the foundation of the National Socialist German Workers party agenda to be based on that fact), then what makes you think that he didn’t think that?
Why would he have wanted the “general population to think that they were to be blamed”? The answer is simple, because of what I detialed above combined witht he fact that he was a hateful individual with proven genetic background of mental instability who placed the entire wieght of Germany’s, and the world’s, woes on the strong backs of the Jewish population. Backs that still stand upright. Backs that have a state on this earth. What good could ever have come from what happened? The Jewish State of Israel.
Hitler hated Jews for many reasons, and blamed them for many problems in his personal life. It seemed like whenever he was denied something, or something affected him in a negative way, it could be blamed on a Jew. He convinced the German people that the Jews were at fault for Germany’s loss in World War I, that the Jews were the only thing stopping Germany from creating a ‘perfect race’, and that the Jews were to blame for the economy.
He blamed them for losing WW1, and for not having the popluation to be all nazis
I’m not sure what you mean by that second part, “not for having the poulation to be all nazis.”
Hitler wanted a perfect race: blonde hair, blue eyes, white skin, and to be christian. He would kill anyone who did not look the way he wanted them to or if they were the wrong religion, kill them out and thats exactly what he did with the jews.
Let’s remember or read up on the topic of Hitler’s idea of God and how he viewed religion and God. German Churches and the Nazi State
i agree with @Dylan and #Mickey, Hitler wanted a perfect world so he “picked the weeds” out of it. He was able to persuade the Germans that the Jews did something by blaming them for things that were inevitable and that they need to be deceased. By showing problems that affect the public and saying the Jews so the Germans began to dislike them also.
I can appreciate thatyou agree with Dylan and Mickey, but your post is a bit confusing. I’m not sure what you mean by “picked the weeds”. The way you wrote it, it seems like you agree with Hitler. Please clarify this. That was certainly Hitler’s twisted and false view of the Jewish populaiton of the world. He thought my people were a scourge, a blemish, a stain on the line of human evolution. A weed int he Garden of Eden – which ironically we were born in.
Then you said, “By showing problems that affect the public and saying the Jews so the Germans began to dislike them also.” OK, after looking at it out of context, this sentence is making a little more sense to me. It looks like you’re saying that when Hitler presented the idea that the Jewish population was to blame for the ills of society, the pople just believed him.
Hitler and the NAZI party blame the Jews for a Lot of stuff. One was for the lost of WWI, and because they thought that the Jews were trying to take over Germany. So he wanted to get rid of the Jews thinking that they were worthless and because he thought that the Jews were the reason why people were living that way in Germany. Hitler wanted to take over/control of the country. Another thing was that they wanted a perfect race which were the Aryans.
Hitler and the NAZI party blamed the Jews for things like being the cause of Germany’s financial troubles. Another thing is that Hitler felt like the Jews were trying to take over Germany and rule one day. He felt like the Jews were going to contaminate the blood of every single German that was in Germany. He hated the Jews for being perfect. He believed that the Jews were the cause of them losing WWI. Hitler blamed the Jews for horrible condition that Germany was in and he blamed them for wanting a “perfect race”. Hitler got the public to go along with his claim by blaming all public problems on the Jews, and the NAZI party and the German community believed him. -__-
Hitler blamed the Jews for alot of things, but i think the main reasons hitler blamed jews is for losing the war, and they wanted “A perfect race” which would be called The Aryans, and he also thought that jews were just bad all around
I agree with what Riley said. Hitler wanted everything to be the exact way that he wanted it to be, and didn’t care what anybody else thought about it. He felt that the Jews were worthless, and wanted to get rid of them all.
Jews were used as a scapegoat by Hitler because of his own personal experiences with them. Several events throughout his life caused him to dislike Jews more and more until he hated them so much he wanted to eradicate them. To promote himself in the public eye, he blamed public issues on the Jews, and gave supposedly legitimate reasoning for his accusations. Hitler was a very talented speaker and managed to persuade the people he was right. He gave promises of the “perfect nation” without them and somehow… people fell for it.
Hitler and the Nazi party had persuade Germans with hatered towards jews because he believed that the WWI was lost because of them , and had also blamed them for the awful condition of Germany, but these opinions of Hitler where not made famous until after 1929 since Hitler didn’t have a good showings in elections. When he Great Depression started the jews where being pick on mainly by the storm troopers (S.A.) since Adolf Hitler was chanler of he Nazi party and his political platform was to get economy better they elected him and made laws against jews.
I agree with Riley’s statement. Hitler wanted a perfect world, but the jews weren’t a part of it. He also didn’t care of how the jews felt about this. Hitler treated the Jews like hobos and they were treated like they were nobodies.
Hitler blamed the Jews for loosing the war. Hitler also had hatred towards Jews because he tried too aply for an art school that was full of Jews and he was not accepted into the school so from their on he alays had hatred towards Jews.
Not exactly. He was denied admission to the school twice because he failed the entrance exam. He didn’t know what he needed to know. It just so happened that the there was at least one Jewish person involved with the admissions to the school.
One of the reasons Adolf Hitler had such a high hatred for Jewish people was because of what occurred in his past childhood. For example, when he was in his teenage years, he went to Amsterdam (I believe it was?) to try and apply for an art school. Of course, Amsterdam had many Jewish people living in it. The people that rejected Hitler from the art school were, of course, Jewish. Therefore, he took out all his hatred on Jewish people in general. He put them in concentration camps that would kill them using a gas chamber. He would personally get his Nazis to do the job for him, instead of “wasting space” in his concentration camps. Hitler was a very… selfish (I was going to use an even worse term) individual.
He wasn’t quite a child, he was or was around eighteen.
Hitler hated the jews for many reasons. Some of which were the loss of WWI, the Treaty of Versailles, and a hyperinflation. In his mind he had always wanted the perfect race. This perfect race didn’t include the jews, instead Hitler wanted them wiped out. He believed that jews were a waste of space and didn’t deserve to be treated like human beings. All of his hatred was focused toward the jews and once the depression began, it wasn’t hard to persuade others to believe what he thought. When the Great Depression began, Hitler realized that that moment was the best time to get rid of the jews. Everyone was looking for people to blame and Hitler provided them with the jews. Hitler’s hate toward the jews soon began to spread, causing most German’s to believe that the jews were the ones behind all the bad things that had happened to them. Jews were soon treated awful, all because of how Hitler and the Nazi’s blamed them for all the troubles in Germany.
I agree with Danielle because she said Jews were blame for losing the war for Germany and that Jews caused the Great Depression.Hitler persuaded others by putting up signs and telling people that the jews caused all of the horrible things. But i think the Nazis should of blame themselves for losing the war and for causing the Great Depression. The Nazis caused this on their selves they had no right to blame other people and because of this millions of jews were killed or badly beaten for no reason.
Hitler and the Nazi Party blamed the jews for losing the First World War and The Treaty of Versailles. Hitler wanted all the jews to be “exterminated” but we know that he failed, but many lost their lives. Hitler wanted everyone to think like he did, the teachers would teach the German students about Hitler and how he was the best person in the world and what he was doing was the right thing. But many people didn’t belive Hitler, they thought that what Hitler was doing was wrong and crule. So many people hid the jews from the Nazi army.
Hitler blamed the Jews, yes for a lot of things but the key things were
Losing the war. Causing their Great Depression. The Treaty of Versaille, and a lot more.
He persuaded the people by saying Jewish children were lazy, and they are theives, not human, trash/garbage, and with so much controversey against the Jews, many followed along.
What is “a lot more”? There are other things.
The Nazi party blamed the Jews for A LOT of things during Hitlers rule. Hitler thought of Germany as “the perfect life” and jews were definatly not included in it. With Germany being one of the first countries that came out of The Great Deppression the Nazi’s started to focus in on social groups and one of those groups were the Jewish people. Hitler thought that jewish people were trash and that they were ruining his perfect lifestyle for the “loyal” germans. Jews had everything taken away from them their homes their families and even worse their pride in themselves which is the worst thing that you could possibly ever do to a person in their entire life. But no Hitler had to do things the way he wanted and he wanted people dead so they died and that is that. But does that make it fair? nope. So while Hitler was thinking of Jews of being less than nothing he never thought about how they felt and how they felt as if they were doing nothing wrong, they were just living their lives happy and carefree.
The Nazi party blamed the Jews for many things. Some things they were blamed for are:
-Germany losing WWI.
-Wanted a perfect race, the Aryans.
-Felt the Jews were the reason why Germany was in a horrible state.
