Technology is becoming better everyday. I believe that we should not get to that point when we start to rely on it though. We should use it to the best of our abilities though. The idea about the elevators, it will help people when they are in a hurry to work. It will also be cool to have technology help us in more useful ways.

With technology continuing to advance and impact our generation, it isn’t a surprise to me that Microsoft wants to promote the idea of “Intelligent Elevators”. I think this new technology can assist people at their job when they’re in a hurry to a meeting. My only concern is the “triggers” the programmed elevator would look for. The worker may make a mistake and ask for “the second floor” but really meant to ask for “the fourth floor”. If this was a situation it may take longer causing the worker to be late or lose time in their lunch break. In my opinion, this would defeat the purpose of having these “intelligent” elevators. Also this isn’t efficient for critical situations such as a patient in need at the hospital, the elevator may not respond to the command of the person in the elevator and the patients life may be in risk. Overall, I think this is definitely a new edition to modern technology and it can be useful to certain work environments.

I think that Microsoft is taking time to do is stupid. As my grandma says this generation is getting lazier by the second. I don’t think there is a need for this apparatus. It is basically pure laziness because it is so hard to press a button. I think they should just stick to improving computers like David said in his response. I don’t know how much one of these elevators would cost but I know it would be a lot of money wasted if this ends up becoming possible. Microsoft is just making easier for this generation to be lazy. That is just my opinion on the Intelligent Elevators.

I think that these elevators are not the best idea. How can an elevator tell where you are going just by your actions? Also, something can happen that makes you change your schedule, the elevator is used to your old schedule so it takes you to the wrong place. What if you have to go to an important meeting and you are already late and the elevator takes you to the wrong floor. You never know what is gong to happen with technology like this. Almost all little kids like to press the button for the elevator, do people really want to take the fun out of elevators for children?

well i believe that coming up with a intelligent elevator is kind of smart but dumb at the same time. I find it hard to believe that when you step into a elevator that it is automatically going to know what floor you want to go to. If i had an chance to get in a elevator like that i would say no because i’m already scared to go in regular elevators because i think that it is going to break down and it might happen to the intelligent elevator .

Having a elevator that would know where ever you wanted to go in the building seems pretty cool. you wont have to press the button because the elevator knows what floor you are going to. As cool as it sounds i don’t think it it would be a good idea. What if you had plans to go the 3rd floor but u couldn’t go because you were needed somewhere else but it took you to the 3rd floor? It would also be kinda creepy because as your talking the elevator is listening to your conversation and you wouldn’t have privacy.

i think that would have been good if they could just read our minds or auto and people don’t have to worry about touching it so they won’t get their hands dirty that is a good idea i would have done that too if i had the idea but that takes time and its hard too. but if they can do that they are smart. so its good idea and if they get it done thats good for us. but that can be too much too. people can just clean their hands too they can not make a big deal about it thats, what i think too.

In my opinion computers thinking for humans is ridiculous. Just the thought of it is absurd. I think computers, TV’s, motors, etc are reasonable, but elevators that move by themselves and are programmed is crazy. I think that everything doesn’t have to evolve technology. Just the thought of pushing a button is cool, kids love it. It makes them feel grown. Also, driving a car and being behind the wheel is cool. Even though I live in modern day I still like the fact of reading a book and holding it, and actually be able to flip the pages. With technology being so advanced now a days their are apps that you can read books from, and to be honest it doesn’t feel the same. Actual books are becoming less popular. I’m not big on books and reading, but i do like to hold a book instead of staring in a screen and having my eyes hurt. Having robots and little technology is dumb. Now a days accountants are loosing their jobs because their are robots taking over their careers. In the future being an accountant will no longer be a career. i think technology is going to go over board in the future, but that’s my opinion.

Hello Mr. Moshe’s class!
As part of a graduate class on using technology in the classroom, I had to find a student blog that was inspirational and used tools that I could use in my classroom. I am impressed with your thoughts and your writings. Mr. Moshe is definitely making you think! What you’re doing here is preparing you for the challenges of the real world. I think that Intelligent Elevators are going too far like many of you do. Technology has its place, but let’s let humans be human and control where we want to go!
Good luck as you blog!

I think that the idea of an elevator without buttons is pretty cool but also lazy at the same time. It isn’t that hard to just press one button to go up or down levels in a building. Also I don’t think that it’s that worth it to have an elevator without buttons that takes 3 months for it to recognize people’s daily routine. It would also cost alot of money and take alot of time to set up that elevator in buildings. It is ironic that the people will have to use the stairs until the new elevator is ready for use. Overall I think that microsoft should stick to improving computers.

I feel that the Microsoft is stepping up their game, with this new technology their bringing to computers, tablets, game consoles, and now elevators. To me it is really nice that you can just enter an elevator without pushing any buttons, you’ll just need to walk in and the elevator takes you wherever you been recently, but say you need to drop something off at a different floor and the elevator takes them to the 1st floor, it would take longer than to push a button to go to the floor you specifically want to go to. It’s a wise idea that Microsoft was thinking this special tool but some people don’t want to be watched; especially for 3 full months. It’s a great idea to have computers that wont be operated by someone or something but they’ll be working for us. Keep finding more information about the new technology were getting to use everyday.

I agree with Jacob that Microsoft has been stepping up they were always following Apple in my opinion. Now if they actually can do this but they are trying to is great imagine not having to push button just sit back and chill. Microsoft can also push it to more and start to revolutionize the USA. But that is long term first let Microsoft do what they can with this Intelligent Elevators’.
