Yes, I would do anything to go back home if saving my uncle would be my only way, so be it.
Creighton could have stayed home, but he would never find out if he could have went home or not. In addition, he would feel guilty for not helping his country because, it says in the book that loyalty is a very important trait for a gentlemen to have.

well if it was me i would break my uncle out of jail.No matter what, blood is blood he’s my family and i’ll take any chance to help him.Creighton chould have been caught saveing his uncle and be sent to the same place his uncle is.And creighton could have just stayed home and forget his uncle and let him rot in jail beacuse his uncle is very rude and mean to him he looks at creighton like he’s below him.

If i was in Creightons position, i would have done the same thing. Creighton believed that Colonel Gower and Lieutenant Hale played a big part in him being able to return home, so as his common sense told him, he followed his uncle’s orders and got him the pistol. Plus, creighton didn’t have many other options, considering he wanted to get home very badly. Plus, Creighton was willing to risk being caught and thrown in jail himself, in order to free his uncle and Lieutenant Hale, if that meant he would be able to go home.

Vlad, Gower was treating Creighton badly from the time they met. Remenber when Creighton started to act like a servant and he was not good at it because he was used to playing the rich guy in play at school. When Creighton went to talk to Gower, he made Creighton feel like a real servant. That was harsh. Not only that, but what Creigton did was never good enough and he lied to him. How exactly is that no harsh treament?

If I was in “Creighton shoes” I would have made the same choice to break him out of jail. I would be as afraid as he was and letting the lying, slimy uncle out would be a kind of hope. If he didn’t help them escape he would have to live in an unknown land for the rest of his life. And it was already hard for him to except the fact he was being sent to live with his uncle. So I would definitely make the decision that he did.

If I was creighton I would of made the same choice because he was family and I wouldnt have a clear conscious knowing that he was rotting in a jail cell.Even though he lied I still would of broke him out so I could prove that I was worthy. If Creighton didnt break his uncle out it would of slimed his chances at getting safely back to england.Creighton didnt have that many choices it was either let them rot in jail or get them out.Their were mainly two risks invovled like being caught and kept prisoner or death. So if I was in creighton’s shoes I would deffinitly made the same descision that he did.

Some other choices Creighton could’ve made was that he could’ve just left his uncle there and continue a new life in America with the yankees.
I agree with Danielle, because Creighton didnt know his uncle at all, the only reason why he met his uncle was because his mom shipped him there or gave him away. Its not like he was willing to live with his unlce. So it wasn’t critical for Creighton to sacrifice so many things towards saving his uncle.

Comment author #3051 on Week Three Question 2 by Mr. Moshé's Critically Thinking . . . Are You?
No, I wouldn’t make the same choice that Creighton made, because Creighton met his uncle not too long ago and its not like his uncle did much for him to be risking his own freedom, and his trust with Dr. Franklin and the rest of the crew. Also, it seems to me that Creighton’s uncle is kind of using him to side with the Americans.

No, I wouldn’t have made the same choice. I don’t think that his uncle treated him well enough to deserve it. I also think he could of said no, or that he couldn’t do it. I think he risked alot by doing it. For example, he risked going to jail or his life.

If I was in Creighton’s shoes I would’ve done the same actions as him because he thought when he freed his uncle he would be able to return back to the British colonies. I would be desperate to leave the West Florida since there is mosquitoes and Patriots that my people loath greatly. Honestly, I’m not a really good liar so eventually my bluff of being a bound servant would be revealed and I wouldn’t want to know the actually consequences of being a spy for the British (more likely death). I would want to be sent to the British colonies since it would give me a better chance or only chance of going back home to England.

I agree with Kahran P. P-5 because after all it is his uncle they are related and I would help him due to that. Also, I agree with Mr. Moshe, maybe his uncle did deserve to be in jail…and Creighton’s conscience was telling him to do the right thing. I guess this question and discussion all depends on your point of view and what you think is right and wrong.

Danielle, what your saying is true. But to have a heart you could just save your own uncle, and yeah his uncle might just be using him for resources, but creighton can save his uncle so that way his uncle can take him back home when they escape and that could be why he saved his uncle in the 1st place.
