5. The article I chose was about the 9/11 attack, and what happened during it. It also talked about how many people were killed because of it. And it stated what other people thought about the attack.
6. The thing that shocked me the most was how so many ppl died during it, and how families didnt know if their loved survived or didn’t.
7. My reaction is that its reallly scary to know that there are people in this world that would actually commit something like this. And that something like this could happen again and we may not be able to stop it.

6. Herbert had started a foundation to help those who suffered from the illness his son suffered from, and has raised over $750,000.
7. Herbert Ouida is a man who really cared about his son, and wanted him to recover from his illness. And when his son died on 9/11, he dedicated his life to helping those who suffered from the same disease. I believe he is a man who understands what other people are going through and wants to help them since he has experienced some of those feelings.

6. “Thousands of lives were suddenly ended due to evil, dispicable acts of terror.”
7. My reaction to the artical was pure shock. I still did not want to believe that any of this stuff actuallly happened. It was also terribly sad that many lives of moms, dads, firefighters, policemen, neighbors, friends, brothers, and sisters were suddenly ended from an attack to our nation. I am still in shock since the first time I heard this tragedy on the news in second grade, and it’s a shame so many loved ones had to be taken away. Rest in peace.

4. I got it from youtube. URL=http://youtube.com/watch?v=EE9TLgCVLBM&mode=related&search=
5. It was a phone call between a man named Kevin Cosgrove and a 9-11 operator. He was on the 105th floor of the 2nd Twin Tower’s building. While he was talking to the lady, he mentioned that there were two people with him. He kept on saying how it was smokey and he couldn’t breathe . All of a sudden, toward the end of the phone call, you can tell the building collapses because there was silence and then you here Kevin saying “Oh God!” and then the conversation abruptly ends.
6. The most striking part of the video was how at the end call the building collapses and then the line ends.
7. The video made chills run down my spine. It was sad because during the duration of the phone call he said how he spoke to his wife before the second plane crashed. He had told her that he was going to exit the building and everything was fine. I couldn’t believe when he screamed “Oh God!” and there was a thunderous noise and then the line went dead. It made me realize that I was affected by that video and I cannot imagine how the families of the dead people are coping.

They had a moment of silent for those whoes lifes were lost, and after they started saying the names of the poeple that died. As the friends and family members listened they cried and hugged as they heard the 2,801 names. You can say that it was a trimendously sad day !
6. The most striky thing that i read in the article was that they read 2,801 names. It was very sad knowing how many people lost their lives.

#5. This article was about Western High School and their annual commemoration of the many heroes and heroines of September 11, 2001. A man named Doug Templeton, a general in the U.S. millitary who just returned from Iraq, donated a flag that was captured from an al Qaeda air base. They used this flag in their annual commemoration. Years ago, they made a replica of all the Twin Towers and also map or sculptures of all the places attacked. Every year, they send flags to six of the fire stations in memory of the firefighters who lost their lives. Many figurs from around the county gaather to honor these men and women with the students at Western High. The principle, as well as the Senior class President, gave speeches at the ceremony.
#6. The most striking, or rather sentimental, thing said was, ”Superman is not going to fly through the sky. Superman comes in a fireman’s uniform to pull you out of a burning building,”. (Scott Fiske, Western High School’s Principle).
#7. My reaction to this was happiness. I’m glad to see that right here in our own comunity that people are not just mourning the death of the men and women, but also celebrating their casue, their triumph. When I think of a death or life in general, I think of my favorite Dr. Suess quote, “Don’t be sad that it’s over…be glad that it happened.”

The section were the plane had colided into was an area with many empty office biuldings and a smokeing area. The airliner hit the Pentagon at 10:10am, 12 minutes later they heard another explosion less that 2 1/2 miles away.

Title- 9/11 Families Call For Action
Who created it- Suzanne Freeman
What kind of media- print article
Website- scholastic.com
Summary- The article was about 9/11 families who want Congress to act now to refrom the nation’s intelligence agencies. They held a vigilin front of the White House.
Most Striking Thing- Is when I read Carol Ashley of Long Island, New York stated that “On 9/11, our government failed to protect us.” “According to the 9/11 Commission Report, there were at least four missed opportunities to stop the attack, which left my daughter and nearly 3,000 others dead. We do not want our government to fail us again.”
Reaction- My reaction to this was suprised.I did not know that there were four missed opportunities to stop the attack. It was also sad to know how all the families must feel to have lost loved ones in 9/11.It was also good to see them taking action for this tradegy and trying to prevent it from happening again.

6. The most striking thing i read was “Palestinian leader YasserArafat condemned the attack as well, although some Palestinians in Israeli-occupied territories and Lebanon celebrated with glee.” It was surprising that people could be so evil and uncaring.
7. I felt sad all over again that this happened and that so many died that day. I was also shocked at the fact that some people were vile and cruel enough to celebrate over what had happened. It was a tragic day that is never going to be forgotten.

4.WasingtonPost.com
5.The only image that the video showed was a wet asphalt ground littered with roses and pictures. You could hear a light rain, and people sobbing really hard in the backround. Some were praying, and a couple were calling out loved ones’ names. At the very end a picture fell onto the ground of a little bot who was about 4 or 5, saying “WE MISS YOU” across it.
6. What I find most striking is that all those people were there, and that one place on the ground wasn’t occupied. You could tell that there were hundreds – maybe even thousands – of people at the memorial, and yet that one foot or so of space was clear. I think everyone was respecting the gifts left behind by the victims’ families and friends.
7.I felt that this was a great way for the everyone to remember the 9/11 victims. Even though you could’nt see anyone, you could actually feel the grief and sadness. It was really gloomy and sad.

It told of the thoughts and opinions the families of the deceased about the memorial and the attacks and of how they felt after 9/11 happened.
6. What really struck me was how emotional these people were and how much they wanted to remember all those who perished in the 9/11 attacks.
7. My reaction to the peace was shock and awe. I loved how much all the residents of New York cared about what happened six years ago and how much they wanted the memories to carry on.

title-stories supplied by NABE members
author-Mike Bergman
media- print airtcle
website-www.nabe.com/amzool/stories.htm
summary – Mike Bergman and alot of others members of the NABE lost thier love ones.
Members of the NABE were all having thier annual meeting in the Marriot World Trade center hotel at the time of the attack. Most NABE members around the world were at thier flights on thier way to the annual meeting. but they didnt make because thier planes got hijacked. so Mike Bergman tells his story of how he survived the tragady and how luckly he wasn’t inside the tower. And not even being in the tower but near enough he still got really hurt.
The most striking thing i read is how the NABE members were in thier bussiness trip for there annual trip . and that they didnt make because the planes got hijacked.
My reaction to the story is that not only the people who were in the planes or the towers or the pentagon got hurt alot other people got hurt by loseing ther love ones and by being near enough to get hurt. in fact pepole all around the country who have nothing to do with the attack still got hurt some how.
The title is 9-11 attack victims honered six years later.
It was created by the Associated Press.
This is a print article.
The website i went to is CNN.
The summary is on 9-11 over 2794 people were killed. Many of the rescuers are now suffering from dust and smoke the inhaled.Six years later people still honering everyone that died.
The most striking i read for me is that over 2794 people were killed on that tragic day.
My reaction to this article isthat it must have been very sad for peoples who lost loved ones.

6. The most striking thing I heard was when a family member said that she worried about her brother and so was the rest of her family and that she just wanted to know if he was OK. Then she started crying. :'( I can’t imagine being in her place. I wonder if they ever found her brother.. the video didn’t say.
7. The video really made me sad and it made me stop and think about how lucky I am that I wasn’t one of the victims, family members, or rescue workers. I was just a confused second grader on that day. I still can’t believe someone would do that. [crash a plane into the twin towers I mean.]

5. The article stated the reason why the september 11th event occurred. A terrorist group in the middle east attacked out of rage and anger. The terrorist group better known as the Al Qaeda wanted to go through the process of restoration and revitalization of there own government called th “Caliphate”. They wanted to extend their government towards Saudi Arabia and egypt. however they felt that the U.S. was in the way. The entire plan was to successfully extract the U.S. from their pathway. The terrorist group went through with their plan, however the U.S. reaction to the attack wasn’t what they expected.

5: my article is a time based thing with what happend at what time so the main big ones are; at 8:45 am, A hijacked passenger jet, American Airlines Flight 11 out of Boston, Massachusetts, crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center, tearing a gaping hole in the building and setting it afire. and at 9:03 a.m.: A second hijacked airliner, United Airlines Flight 175 from Boston, crashes into the south tower of the World Trade Center and explodes. Both buildings are burning. at 9:43 a.m.: American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon, sending up a huge plume of smoke. Evacuation begins immediately. and at 10:05 a.m.: The south tower of the World Trade Center collapses, plummeting into the streets below. A massive cloud of dust and debris forms and slowly drifts away from the building. At 10:28 a.m.: The World Trade Center’s north tower collapses from the top down as if it were being peeled apart, releasing a tremendous cloud of debris and smoke. And finally at 11:26 a.m.: United Airlines reports that United Flight 93, en route from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco, California, has crashed in Pennsylvania. How Stupid are they?
6: I would have to say the most striking thing would be that Bush said that the jets could fire the airplanes down and he didnt even take any actions before to solve the situation. Bush acted cowardly.
7: When ever I talk or learn about 9/11 I always regret that we couldnt do anything. not to mention that bush was a coward! he just stood ther and didnt do ANYthing! he just told the jets to shoot it down. he didnt do anything logically right. grr :0

6.The most shocking part on reading this article is that many firefighters are saving the lives of others on 9 -11, and 6 years later they have cancer do to the smoke and dust in the air.
7.I felt bad because these people are risking there lives for others and end up with unexpected cancer. Many people were lost on 9-11 and i believe that this is unfair in a way to many.

6.The most striking thing I read in the article was that how the homefront is on alert, in just a leisurely way because they make all these plans to make the U.S. safer, but don’t come through. Like how most air cargo isn’t screened, the hightech bomb detectors are delayed indefinately, and congress wants tighter standards for drivers licenses but won’t fund them.

6. The most striking thing I read in the article is that 2,974 victims by 9/11 and that some firefighters, police officers, or survivors are ill with respiratory problems or have cancer from exposure to the fallen towers’ toxic dust. I never knew that many people died and people are still dying from 9/11 because of the toxic dust that caused them cancer or illness.
7. My reaction to my piece is that I was suprised at the large number of people that died and I also think its unfair for the survivors or the heroes that helped rescue other people to get cancer or an illness because they don’t deserve to be suffering from the attack 6 years after it happened and they were the ones helping other people get to a safer area or saving others’ lives.

5.Many prople gathered in New York to remember the loved ones that died in the tragedy of 9/11. They took a moment of silence to honor and remember the people and heroes that died.
6. The most that impacted me was to see so many people that were crying for their loved ones yet they cant do anything except remember them. Also, I saw some pictures and the pictures also impacted me greatly.
7.I think that it wasn’t fair to the poor people that were innocent and just had their lives taken away from them just like that. I think that noone has the right to take other peoples’ lives like they did. It wasn’t right.

3. Media: Print Article
4. Website: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20607764
5. Summary: This article was about the authur, Sharon Bono, who went in labor with her daughter on the same day of the tragedy “9/11”. Her daughter was born with a congenital heart defect, and was transported to a children’s hospital hours away. The authur thanks the Lord everyday that her daughter is still alive because, at the time of her birth, her survival chances were rated less than 5%.
6. Striking Part: The most striking part of this article was when the authur said that she lost four children over a ten year period of trying to conceive. Sharon Bono looks at her daughter daily and still weeps for the families that lost loved ones that day.
7. Reaction: My reaction to this piece is that the Lord is good all the time. I think that the authur should continue to be thankful everyday because her daughter is here by the Grace of God. I pray for all the people who were killed on that tragic day. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

5. They talk about how at the 6th anniversary ceremony of 9/11 how people reacted and delt with the pain. Mostly their were people clutching photos of their loved ones. Also they talked about how the dust of the World Trade Center was “toxic” so that is why the rescuers (firefighters and “first responders”) now have cancer, and respiratory problems.
6. The most shocking thing I read about it was how a attorney working a block away from the World Trade Center and the ONLY survivor of the horrible incident, died 5 months later of lung disease and became the 2,974th victim.
7. Honestly, it shocked me to the point were my eyes started to water. It was so overwhelming to read what the morners did at the ceremony and how even after so long someone still died over something so minor as dust.

5. It was the day to remember; loved ones of those killed in the attacks of Sept 11, 2001, gathered under sad skies at the Pentagon and in New York. This year the names of the New York people were read by police officers, firefighters and other members of emergency services that responded to the scene. The Brooklyn Youth Chorus performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the start of the ceremony. It was a day to be remembered.
6. The most striking thing that I read was that the day in Washington was very different from the day in Florida because in Florida there was no moment of silence.
7. My reaction was that I was surprised that everyone in Washington was sad. Most people did not care about what happened.

6.) the most striking thing i heard was that there are over 1000 people whose remains were never found or identified. also, how much technology has advanced since 9/11.
7.) my reaction is sad because of all the people that were unable to have their loved one’s remains. also, i was surprised to find out that getting the DNA from bones didn’t exist in september 11, 2007.

Carey Lemack was a daughter of a 9/11 victim. They finally found the remains of her mom Judy Lemack by extracting DNA from her bones and compared it to her foot. Her mother crashed in to the World Trade Center and her remains were found on Ground Zero of that day. It wasn’t matched until this week using new technology of DNA matching.
6. The most striking thing I saw was when the DNA analyists grinded the calcium with a blender, so they could use the cells.
7. My personal reaction was that it was upsetting that Carey Lemack couldn’t see or know where her mother’s body was for 6 years.

5. September 11th 2001, the devastating day that the twin towers had met a horrible fate. This occured in New York City at 8:45 Am. Airliners were hijacked and flown directly into the twin towers.
6. The most stiking thing i read in this article was that it occured at 8:45 Am. I haven’t really read into this incident. I have just heard about it, but i never heard that it happened at 8:45 Am. That really is crazy for all the people who worked there and were on their way to work.
7. My reaction to this article was very shocking. I was really surprised at what i had found out by reading this. As i said before, I never really had a chance to read into the 9/11 attack before. I cry everytime i listen, read, or watch about this. Its just so devastating for all the people who died on this terrible incident.

6. When you read how many people actually died in something as sad as this. And some of the survivers thought, okay, I made it out alive I’m safe now, then they end up dieing 5 months later from a lung disease caused by the dust they inhaled. It’ so unfair.
7. As much as I knew what 9/11 was, I never actually researched it and thought about all that these people went through, and it really makes me think about how lucky I was to be away from the drama.
